Head and neck ultrasound is becoming more and more popular in several countries, as it helps considerably the clinician for the diagnosis. It has been introduced in Switzerland in 1995, and has become in 2013 a mandatory part of the training in ENT.
After the success of the first Ultrasound hands-on course in 2012, we have decided to launch a complete Salivary gland ultrasound course, that will last three full days, including both theoretical and practical knowledge. Participants will have the oportunity to train on real patients and learn all the techniques linked with ultrasound (Fine needle aspiration, Botox injection). The first day will be for beginners, the second and third day to ultrasonography on real patients. This part is open for advanced training for ORL and radiologists. Participants can register separately for each of the 3 days. The course grants 8 CME points of the SGUM (Swiss Society for Ultrasound in Medicine) per day.
The course is open to all specialties dealing with salivary glands, wishing to acquire this specific training.
Material needed for the course (white coats, gloves, masks and surgical equipment) will be provided at the University Medical Center.
